SO MAD!

Okay, what's a good way to break the tension at the supper table when mom is SOOOO MAD that vein in my head is about to burst? Have your 2 year old take off her fairy princess dress down to her waist and yell at the top of her lungs "EVERYBODY LOOK AT MY BELLYBUTTON!". Really there isn't a way to NOT laugh at that.

Beautiful Day

We spent Sunday at Hawrelak Park and the girls road their bikes and played at the park. They had a great time.

Kevin taking photos while I'm watching the kids.

Amelia serving me "ice cream".

Naomi getting the hang of "posing". This is also the same bridge that Amelia fell off of while Kevin was taking photos!

Naomi riding her bike.

Amelia on her big girl bike. She's just starting to figure it out, but she's pretty good at it already.

We have decided that one day on the weekend we need to be out of the house by 9am so that we can go and do something fun for the kids. This is what we did last week. I'm sure that most weekends will have a park in it at some point.

Family Friday

Well today is Friday and Kevin is off work at 2pm. So we usually take the kids to do something fun (swimming, park, picnic in the park etc). Today we are going to take the kids to the Street Performers Festival in Edmonton. Should be fun with lots of yummy (yet crappy) food from vendors and kids activities. Maybe the girls will even get their faces painted this year (last year they were too scared to). It's a beautiful afternoon here so it should be a good time. I am also going to a friends house tonight for some girl time (along with an opportunity to purchase some fabulous jewlery I understand). Kevin will be at home with all 3 kids by himself tonight, for 2 whole hours. Let's see how this turns out. I'm only 3 doors away, I'll let you know if he calls for help!

Fun day turned not so fun day

So while Kevin is away I've been thinking of fun things that we can do to fill our days up. So today's plan was a picinic in the park on a beautiful sunny day. Well, we packed our lunch, headed to the park and we were ready for some fun. Ate our lunch and the girls went to play. Naomi wiped out on the cement where some sand was sitting and scratched up her hand. Then after finally convincing her to go back and play she wipes out again in the same spot. This time she really hurt herself, scratched up her ankle pretty good, more of her hands and now her knees. So to top it all off as I am trying to calm her down, it starts to rain. I don't mean rain as in "showers" I mean rain as in "downpour". So I'm trying to keep Naomi from crying, trying to collect Ameila off the jungle gym (a feet that should only be undertaken with great care as she is SOOOOO fast and SOOOOO fearless), and get everybody (including poor Elliott who is in the stroller) into the van before we all get soaked to the bone. So into the van we go, everybody is now crying because 1) Naomi is still hurt, 2) Amelia is mad that I took her away from the park and 3) Elliott is startled by the quickness of me getting him into his car seat. So off we head home and wouldn't you know... IT STOPPED RAINING! Oh well, there's always tomorrow!

All by myself (+3 children)

So we had a wonderful weekend planned. We'd rented a house at a lake nearby for 5 days, Kevin took the time off work for our mini-vacation, and unfortunatley we had to cancel it. Kevin had to fly to Montreal yesterday for a funeral of a close friends father. So here I am, no beach, no Kevin and 3 children all on my own. Actually, it's not as tough as I thought it was going to be. The girls are being so great and helping me out a lot. Just feeling a little lonely without Kevin around. 2 more sleeps and he'll be home.

Seriously cute baby

Here are a few photos of Elliott. He is becoming such a smiley baby. He wakes up every morning with a big grin for me. This was taken just last night so it is really the most recent photo that I have.

Here he is just hanging out in his car seat.

I never thought I'd get asked this question!

So I was feeding Elliott the other day and Naomi was feeding her baby right beside me. She pulls up her shirt, gets a "nursing pillow" (one of the "u" shaped ones meant for your neck), looks at me and asks, "I don't know why my boobs are so high and yours are so low?". Yup, you heard me! I think I'll have to make an appointment to get that fixed after nursing!

Time to start again!

Okay it's been about a year since I've "blogged" (is that really a word?), anyway, I figure now is as good a time as any! I have been waiting for something "good" to write about and I think that I have the perfect start to this! My children are totally freaking out today. Naomi has locked herself in the spare room, and Amelia is crying on the couch. Elliott doesn't seem to care too much and is just hangin' in the swing. The reason for ALL this chaos this morning??? A FLY! Yes, you heard me, a FLY! Naomi says she is going to stay in the room for the rest of her life. Oh well, guess I'll miss her.
